Candidate Requirements
Takora Human Capital is seeking an experienced Product & Procurement Manager to oversee product strategy pricing procurement sourcing and supplier management for a leading industrial hydraulics and tooling business in Vereeniging.
The successful candidate will serve as the businesss hydraulic product authority driving gross profit growth improving supplier performance optimising stock availability and developing a house brand that strengthens margins and market differentiation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute product strategy pricing profitability and product-range management.
Manage procurement planning supplier sourcing and commercial negotiations.
Drive the development and growth of the companys house brand.
Monitor product-line profitability gross profit margins contribution margins landed costs foreign exchange exposure and rebates.
Manage supplier relationships commercial terms stock levels and replenishment.
Maintain accurate product procurement and supplier data dashboards and reporting.
Use analytics and forecasting tools to improve sourcing efficiency and stock availability.
Support product marketing branch training and technical sales teams.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Internal Candidates
At least 3 years experience within the business in a technical sales branch or procurement role.
Must meet the required education hydraulics knowledge and systems proficiency requirements.
External Candidates
At least 5 years experience in product management category management or procurement.
Experience in industrial tooling hydraulics or technical wholesale and distribution.
EDUCATION
A technical diploma National Diploma (N-Dip) trade qualification or engineering qualification is preferred.
Hydraulic or fluid power training will be advantageous.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Systems and Analytics
SAP Business One operational proficiency.
QlikView dashboards and reporting.
Netstock forecasting and replenishment.
Practical application of AI tools for analysis forecasting and content development.
Commercial and Procurement
Procurement planning and supplier performance management.
Product-line P&L management gross profit contribution margins and landed costs.
Pricing strategies margin management and rebate structures.
Supplier sourcing negotiations and commercial relationship management.
Hydraulics Knowledge
High-pressure hydraulic systems up to 700 bar including pressure force flow and tonnage principles.
Hydraulic cylinders pumps valves hoses couplers and fittings.
Torque wrenches bolt tensioners lifting and pressing applications.
Hydraulic safety standards and testing procedures.
