Quantity Surveyor / Operations Manager

Our client in Centurion is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with strong financial QS experience and operational management capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost control, project financial management, operational coordination and ensuring projects are delivered within budget, on time and to the required standards. Experience in the electrical and plumbing sectors is essential.

Description:
Quantity Surveying and financial management:

• Prepare project estimates, bills of quantities and cost plans.
• Compile and evaluate tenders and supplier quotations.
• Monitor project expenditure, budgets and cash flow.
• Conduct financial forecasting and cost analysis.
• Prepare progress claims, valuations and variation orders.

Operations management:

• Coordinate daily operational activities and ensure projects run efficiently.
• Plan, allocate and monitor resources, materials and labour.
• Oversee project progress against budgets, deadlines and quality standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, suppliers, subcontractors and clients.
• Monitor procurement and ensure materials are available when required.
• Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety requirements, company procedures and contractual obligations.
• Provide regular operational and financial reports to management.
  
  

Requirements:

• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification.
• Grade 12 (Matric).
• 3–5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying within the electrical and/or plumbing industry.
• Proven financial Quantity Surveying experience is essential.
• Experience in operations, project coordination or team management will be advantageous.
• Strong budgeting, cost control and financial reporting skills.
• Good knowledge of project costing, tendering and contract administration.
• Excellent organisational, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Excel and relevant QS software.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
