Software Engineer (AI Enabled) – Build production AI solutions within a high-volume FinTech
An excellent opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-volume FinTech environment where AI is becoming a core part of how products are built and delivered. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your experience in AI engineering by working on production use cases involving LLMs, RAG, embeddings and vector search, while being involved in the modernisation of complex payment platforms.

THE ROLE
As a Senior Software Engineer (AI Enabled), you’ll play a key role in modernising and re-platforming high-volume payment systems, while building AI directly into the products and services being developed.
You’ll work across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and technical design through to development, testing, deployment and production support. A major part of the role will be integrating LLMs into real-world software solutions, moving beyond simple prompt-and-response applications into more sophisticated AI features using context engineering, embeddings, vector search and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
You’ll also take ownership of the architecture surrounding these AI capabilities, working with relational, NoSQL and vector databases and ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, reliable and cost-effective.
Beyond the software itself, you’ll help define how AI is adopted across engineering. You’ll establish practical standards around the use of AI coding tools, ensure AI-generated code is properly reviewed and tested, and help the wider engineering team adopt AI in a disciplined and responsible way.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer / Software Developer, with experience leading technical delivery
- Strong C# and .NET 8 development experience
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience with system design and architecture
- Proven experience building and deploying AI-powered applications into production
- Hands-on experience working with LLMs beyond basic prompt and response, including RAG, embeddings, vector search and context engineering
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, with exposure to vector databases
- Experience leading the migration or re-platforming of live, high-volume systems
- Strong cloud experience with AWS or Azure
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, testing, monitoring and production support
