Operations Manager – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse operations within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will ensure production targets are achieved efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse operations.
• Ensure production plans and delivery targets are achieved on time.
• Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure manufacturing documentation is accurate and audit-ready.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance to manage deviations, investigations, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Monitor production performance, including yield, scrap, rework, and downtime.
• Lead, develop, and manage production supervisors, team leaders, and operators.
• Ensure workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Engineering to ensure material availability and equipment reliability.
• Manage production costs, budgets, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Engineering, Production Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements is advantageous.
• Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience is advantageous.
• Experience in a contract manufacturing (CMO/CDMO) environment is advantageous.
• Experience managing unionised workforces is advantageous.
• A postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.
