Langebaan, West Coast | R14 000 – R16 000 per month | Fixed-Term Contract

A growing construction business is looking for a reliable, proactive and hands-on Storeman to take full accountability for stock on a busy residential construction site in Langebaan. This is a site-based role for someone who understands that good stock control is not just about counting materials — it is about making sure the right stock is received, recorded, issued and available when subcontractors need it.

The successful candidate must be a strong administrator, confident with Excel, comfortable working in a construction-site environment and willing to take ownership of the stock yard and all related records. There is strong growth within the business, making this a good opportunity for someone who wants to prove themselves and grow with the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for stock received, stored and issued on site.
• Receive supplier deliveries and check quantities and condition against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Accurately book stock in and out.
• Issue stock to subcontractors and ensure all movements are properly recorded.
• Maintain accurate stock records and supporting documentation.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile variances.
• Investigate stock discrepancies and take corrective action where required.
• Monitor stock levels together with the Procurement Manager.
• Keep the stock yard organized, clean and secure.
• Ensure stock procedures are consistently followed.
• Work with the Creditors Department regarding stock returns to suppliers.
• Coordinate and oversee tasks assigned to stock-yard staff.
• Identify opportunities to improve stock-yard processes and controls.
• Assist subcontractors when materials are required.
• Be available to start earlier on certain days when subcontractor requirements or site demands require it.
• Assist with ad hoc operational duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Previous stores, stock-control, warehouse or construction-site stores experience strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Own reliable transport.
• Good Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong MS Office ability.
• Strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good time-management skills.
• Able to meet deadlines.
• Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English, written and spoken.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
