Role Description

The Mortgage Loan Originator is a full-time, on-site role based in Cape Town. This role is responsible for guiding clients through the mortgage application process, from initial contact to loan closing. Daily activities include meeting with prospective borrowers, assessing financial situations, explaining loan options, and collecting required documentation. The Mortgage Loan Originator will work closely with underwriting and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of mortgage applications, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and uphold TigerFinance’s service standards. The role also involves building relationships with referral partners, maintaining a pipeline of leads, and using CRM tools to track and manage client interactions.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Loan Origination and Mortgage Lending, with experience advising clients on suitable mortgage products.
• Knowledge of Underwriting processes and Loans evaluation to support accurate and compliant loan recommendations.
• Solid Finance foundation, including understanding of credit, income analysis, and affordability assessments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in clear terms.
• Proven ability to build and maintain client and partner relationships, with strong sales and negotiation capabilities.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple applications simultaneously.
• Comfort working with digital tools and CRM systems; proficiency in standard office software.
• Previous experience in mortgage or consumer lending is preferred; relevant certifications or coursework in finance or banking are an advantage.
