Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role for a Grade 10 Accounting Tutor located in Randburg. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering engaging mathematics lessons aligned with the required curriculum, creating lesson plans, and helping students understand mathematical concepts. The tutor will assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs. Building confidence and fostering a positive attitude toward mathematics in students is a key aspect of the role.
What You Will Do:
- Deliver structured, curriculum-aligned IEB Accounting lessons
- Teach language, literature, analysis, and exam-focused skills with clarity and depth
- Identify learner gaps and adapt sessions to academic needs
- Provide clear explanations and constructive academic feedback
- Build learner confidence in writing, comprehension, and critical thinking
- Guide learners toward academic independence and strong study habits
- Plan lessons thoroughly and track academic progress
- Support exam preparation, assessments, and coursework requirements
- Communicate professionally with Intelligian management and families
- Maintain a calm, respectful, and student-centred classroom presence
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Accountancy and expertise in Accounting Education
- Experience in Curriculum Development and Lesson Planning
- Excellent Communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly
- Ability to adapt teaching methods based on individual student needs
- Prior experience in tutoring or classroom teaching is beneficial
- Familiarity with South Africa’s IEB, CAPS, or Cambridge curricula is an advantage
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field is preferred
