Senior Project Manager - IT Infrastructure

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Project Manager specializing in IT infrastructure to drive critical technology initiatives for their operations in Durban . This role involves managing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, data center deployments, and cloud migrations. You will collaborate closely with IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and minimal disruption to services. This is a key position for an individual passionate about technology, project excellence, and contributing to the modernization of enterprise IT environments within the KwaZulu-Natal region.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of IT infrastructure projects, from initiation through to closure.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocation, and budgets for IT initiatives.
• Coordinate and lead cross-functional IT teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and security specialists.
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring timely delivery and quality of work.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, proactively communicating status and resolutions to stakeholders.
• Ensure all IT projects adhere to company policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience managing complex IT infrastructure projects .
• Proven experience with network design, server consolidation, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Strong understanding of ITIL best practices and project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience managing remote and hybrid IT teams is a plus for this remote-friendly role.
