Senior Biophysicist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Biophysicist to join their advanced research and development team, operating remotely. This role is central to understanding molecular mechanisms and designing novel therapeutic interventions through the application of physical principles to biological systems. You will lead research efforts, design and execute complex experiments, and contribute significantly to the company's scientific endeavors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong theoretical background in biophysics and extensive practical experience in experimental techniques, working within a dynamic, globally distributed team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct cutting-edge research in biophysics, focusing on protein structure-function relationships, molecular interactions, or membrane biophysics.
• Design, perform, and interpret experiments using techniques such as spectroscopy, calorimetry, X-ray crystallography, or cryo-EM.
• Develop and apply computational models to analyze biophysical data and predict molecular behavior.
• Collaborate with biochemists, molecular biologists, and pharmacologists to advance drug discovery projects.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in biophysics and related fields.
• Publish research findings in high-impact scientific journals and present at international conferences.
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the scientific vision of the R&D department.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Biophysics, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant post-doctoral or industry research experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more biophysical characterization techniques.
• Strong theoretical understanding of physical principles applied to biological systems.
• Proficiency in data analysis and scientific programming (e.g., Python, R).
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and scientific communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment.
