Electrical Engineer / Electrical Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Our client, a leading organisation in the confectionery manufacturing industry, is seeking a skilled and experienced Factory Electrician to maintain and oversee the electrical systems, machinery controls, and electrical infrastructure within its manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical faults, conducting preventative maintenance, supporting production during machinery breakdowns, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of factory equipment. The ideal candidate must have strong electrical fault-finding skills, sound technical knowledge, and the ability to minimise downtime while maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency.

POSITION INFO:
Job Purpose To maintain and oversee the electrical systems, machinery controls and electrical infrastructure of the confectionery factory, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation. Key Responsibilities Maintain factory electrical systems and equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns. Maintain electrical panels, motors, sensors, switches and control systems. Assist with PLC, automation and machine-control fault finding. Monitor electrical equipment for potential failures. Implement preventative electrical maintenance. Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment. Ensure electrical work is performed safely and in accordance with applicable requirements. Maintain appropriate electrical maintenance records. Coordinate external electrical contractors where required. Maintain critical electrical spares. Investigate recurring electrical failures. Assist engineering with machinery upgrades and modifications. Support production during electrical breakdowns and emergencies. Assist with energy-efficiency initiatives and monitoring of electricity consumption. Ensure electrical isolation and safe-working procedures are followed.
