About the Role Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Family Support Specialist to join their team in Port Elizabeth , operating on a hybrid work model. This role focuses on providing comprehensive support to families navigating various challenges, including parenting, child development, and relationship dynamics. You will empower families by offering guidance, resources, and emotional support, facilitating stronger family units and promoting child welfare. This position requires a deep understanding of family systems, excellent empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively with families in both in-person and remote settings. You will be a key advocate for family well-being. Key Responsibilities Provide in-home and virtual support services to families based on assessed needs. Conduct family assessments to identify strengths, challenges, and goals. Develop and implement family support plans tailored to individual family circumstances. Offer parenting education and guidance on child development stages and effective discipline. Facilitate referrals to community resources such as counseling, childcare, and financial assistance programs. Empower families to build their capacity and achieve positive outcomes. Requirements Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field. Experience working with families in a support or therapeutic capacity. Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and parenting strategies. Excellent communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
