AV TECHNICIAN – NETWORKING, CCTV & AUDIO-VISUAL SYSTEMS

Are you technically minded, hands-on and passionate about electronics, networking and smart technology?
An established technical installation company based in Stellenbosch is looking for a motivated and reliable AV Technician to join its experienced team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to develop their skills across a wide range of modern electronic, audio-visual, networking and security systems.
You will be involved in installations, maintenance and fault-finding at residential properties, businesses, restaurants, wine estates and other commercial sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot Wi-Fi networks, internet distribution and mesh networking systems.
• Assist with the installation and maintenance of CCTV surveillance cameras and access control systems.
• Install and service intercoms, alarm systems and related electronic equipment.
• Work with home theatre systems, sound installations and audio-visual equipment.
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot DSTV and satellite television systems.
• Assist with conference room AV systems, boardroom technology and commercial sound installations.
• Carry out network cabling, equipment installations and general technical fault-finding.
• Perform installations safely, including working on ladders and at heights.
• Deliver neat, professional installations and excellent customer service.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be able to communicate in both Afrikaans and English.
• Practical experience in networking, Wi-Fi distribution or electronic installations would be highly advantageous.
• Experience with CCTV, intercoms, DSTV, sound systems or audio-visual equipment will be beneficial.
• Must have reliable transport to and from work.
• Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.
• Physically fit and capable of performing practical installation work.
• Technically minded with good problem-solving abilities.
• Willing to learn new systems, products and technologies.
• Reliable, punctual, responsible and presentable.
• Able to work well within a small technical team.

No formal qualifications are required. We are looking for practical ability, technical aptitude, a willingness to learn and, most importantly, the right attitude!
Working Hours & Area

• Work starts at 07:00.
• Finishing time is generally between 17:00 and 18:00, depending on workload.
• Approximately 85% of installations are in the Stellenbosch area.
• Additional projects in Somerset West, Franschhoek and Paarl.
