An immediately available Financial Accountant is required for a six-month contract at the Cape Town Waterfront to support a busy Finance team through year-end processes.

The successful candidate will provide hands-on Financial Accounting support across general ledger management, reconciliations, fixed assets, banking administration and year-end accounting processes.
The role requires a Finance-qualified individual with at least three years’ relevant accounting experience who can step into the position immediately and work independently within a deadline-driven environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger accounts.
• Complete GL reconciliations.
• Investigate reconciling items.
• Prepare journals and accounting entries.
• Assist with month-end processes.
• Assist with year-end accounting.
• Maintain balance sheet schedules.
• Support financial reporting.
• Manage fixed asset accounting.
• Reconcile fixed assets.
• Assist with banking administration.
• Support bank reconciliations.
• Prepare supporting schedules.
• Assist with audit information.
• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Provide ad hoc Finance support.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Finance / Accounting qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ Financial Accounting experience.
• General ledger experience.
• GL reconciliation experience.
• Fixed asset experience.
• Banking administration / reconciliation exposure.
• Strong numerical ability.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to meet tight deadlines.
• Available immediately.
• Available for a six-month contract.
