About the Role

Our client, a distinguished name in the mineral exploration sector, is seeking a talented Geologist with a strong focus on structural and economic geology to join their team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, ZA . This role is crucial for identifying and evaluating new mineral prospectivity, defining resource targets, and supporting exploration campaigns. The successful candidate will be involved in detailed geological mapping, structural analysis, data interpretation, and the integration of various datasets to build robust geological models. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geological mapping and structural analysis in exploration areas.
• Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify and define mineralized targets.
• Develop and refine 3D geological models, incorporating structural controls and mineral distribution.
• Plan and supervise drilling programs, including core logging and sampling.
• Contribute to resource estimation and target generation for future exploration phases.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and geological interpretations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with geophysicists, geochemists, and other technical specialists.
• Maintain accurate geological databases and ensure data quality.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in structural geology and mineral deposit research.
• Assist in the assessment of exploration project viability and risk.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences; a Master's degree with a specialization in Structural or Economic Geology is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mineral exploration geology, with a strong emphasis on structural interpretation and economic geology principles.
• Proven experience in field mapping, structural data collection, and analysis.
• Proficiency with geological software such as ArcGIS, Leapfrog Geo, and database management tools.
• Strong understanding of various mineral deposit types and their geological controls.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex geological concepts clearly.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in both field and office environments.
• Experience working in the diverse geological settings found in Western Cape and surrounding regions is advantageous.
• Valid driver's license.
