Project Engineer - Building Construction

About the Role

Our client, a growing player in the building construction sector, is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Project Engineer to support project management teams in Midrand, Gauteng . Key Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers in the planning, execution, and monitoring of construction projects.
• Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of information and materials.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submitt plans.
• Manage project documentation, including daily reports, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
• Monitor site progress and assist in identifying and resolving technical issues.
• Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental plans on site.
• Assist in managing project schedules and budgets.
• Conduct site inspections to verify work quality and compliance.
• Facilitate communication between site teams, management, and external stakeholders.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving efforts.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in a project engineering or site engineering role within the construction industry.
• Foundational understanding of building construction processes and principles.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of project management software is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under supervision.
• Eagerness to learn and develop professional skills in project management.
• Willingness to work on-site and adapt to project needs in Midrand, Gauteng .
