Senior Investment Strategist

About the Role

Our client, a leading investment management firm with a strong presence in East London , is looking for a highly analytical and experienced Senior Investment Strategist to join their dynamic team. This role is responsible for developing and articulating investment strategies across various asset classes, conducting market research, and providing strategic guidance to portfolio managers and clients. The Senior Investment Strategist will play a key role in shaping the firm's investment philosophy and contributing to its continued success in the financial markets of the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, refine, and communicate investment strategies across multiple asset classes (equities, fixed income, alternatives).
• Conduct thorough macroeconomic and market research to identify investment themes and opportunities.
• Analyze market trends, economic data, and geopolitical events to inform strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers to ensure alignment of strategies with client objectives and risk parameters.
• Prepare investment outlook reports, white papers, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Engage with clients and prospects to articulate the firm's investment philosophy and strategic positioning.
• Contribute to the development of new investment products and solutions.
• Monitor the competitive landscape and industry best practices.
• Provide thought leadership on investment-related topics.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in investment strategy, portfolio management, or asset allocation.
• Deep understanding of global financial markets, various asset classes, and economic principles.
• Proven ability to conduct in-depth market research and formulate data-driven investment strategies.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools.
• CFA designation is highly preferred.
