Principal Recruitment Consultant - IT Infrastructure & Cloud

About the Role

Our client, a top-tier recruitment consultancy, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Principal Recruitment Consultant to lead their specialized practice in IT Infrastructure and Cloud technologies . This position is based in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal , and is designed for a recruitment expert with a deep understanding of the digital transformation landscape. You will be responsible for managing complex recruitment projects, developing client relationships at the senior level, and sourcing highly sought-after technical talent. This is a fully remote position, offering unparalleled flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa, while still engaging with clients and candidates primarily within the Pietermaritzburg and broader KZN market. This role requires a self-starter with exceptional market knowledge and a proven ability to deliver high-impact placements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute high-level recruitment mandates for IT Infrastructure and Cloud roles (e.g., Cloud Architects, DevOps Engineers, Network Administrators, Systems Engineers).
• Develop and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within client organizations.
• Proactively identify and engage with top talent in the IT Infrastructure and Cloud space, leveraging advanced sourcing techniques.
• Conduct in-depth needs analysis with clients to fully understand their technical requirements and company culture.
• Provide expert market intelligence and strategic advice to clients on talent acquisition strategies.
• Oversee the entire recruitment process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of candidates.
• Mentor and guide junior consultants working on IT-related assignments.
• Drive business development initiatives to expand the client base and secure new opportunities in the IT sector.
• Represent the company at virtual industry events and online forums.

Requirements

A minimum of 8 years of experience in recruitment consultancy, with a significant and demonstrable specialization in IT Infrastructure and Cloud recruitment. Proven track record of successfully placing senior and niche IT professionals. Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), networking technologies, virtualization, cybersecurity, and DevOps principles. Exceptional business development and client relationship management skills at a senior level. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic approach to talent sourcing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at communicating technical concepts. Proven ability to work independently and autonomously in a remote work environment. Experience with advanced recruitment tools, ATS systems, and social/professional networking platforms. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or a related field is highly advantageous. Must be proficient in remote collaboration tools and possess excellent time management skills.
