Senior Buyer - Indirect Spend

About the Role

Our client, WhatJobs Direct , is looking for a highly skilled and strategic Senior Buyer to manage indirect spend categories for their operations based in Pretoria, Gauteng, ZA . This pivotal role involves developing and executing sourcing strategies for non-production goods and services, such as IT, marketing, facilities, and professional services. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving cost savings, ensuring compliance, and building strong relationships with suppliers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key indirect spend categories.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and high-quality service levels.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and conduct regular supplier reviews.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and implement initiatives to achieve financial targets.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their needs and deliver effective procurement solutions.
• Conduct market analysis to stay informed about industry trends and potential supply chain risks.
• Manage contracts, including preparation, execution, and ongoing administration.
• Support the implementation and utilization of procurement technology platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, with a significant focus on indirect spend categories.
• Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and category management.
• Strong understanding of indirect procurement processes and best practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and financial acumen.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders within the organization.
• Experience working in the Gauteng region is advantageous.
