Senior Project Manager - IT Infrastructure & Cloud

About the Role

Our client, a growing technology firm, is seeking a Senior Project Manager with expertise in IT infrastructure and cloud solutions. This position operates under a hybrid work model, offering flexibility with a combination of remote work and necessary in-office collaboration in Randburg, Gauteng . You will be responsible for leading projects related to the deployment, upgrade, and management of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure). The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in IT systems and a proven ability to manage complex projects from initiation to successful completion. You will play a vital role in enhancing the company's technological backbone and ensuring the scalability and security of its IT operations in the bustling hub of Gauteng .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT infrastructure and cloud-based projects.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and budget in collaboration with IT leadership and stakeholders.
• Manage project teams, including internal resources and external vendors, ensuring efficient execution.
• Oversee the implementation and migration of infrastructure to cloud platforms.
• Ensure projects adhere to IT security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
• Provide regular and accurate project status updates to stakeholders, utilizing various hybrid communication methods.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts for IT hardware, software, and services.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years focusing on infrastructure and cloud projects.
• Proven experience managing projects involving server upgrades, network deployments, data center migrations, and cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong technical understanding of IT infrastructure components, operating systems, virtualization, and networking.
• Experience working within a hybrid environment, effectively managing tasks remotely and on-site.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and software (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; PMP or ITIL certification is highly desirable.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Willingness to be present in the Randburg office as required by the hybrid model.
