About the Role

Our client, a prominent manufacturing and engineering company in Klerksdorp, North West, ZA , is seeking to recruit dedicated individuals for an Apprentice Artisan position in Mechanical Fitting. You will be involved in the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of various mechanical equipment and machinery. The program involves structured learning, both on-the-job and potentially through external technical institutions, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of mechanical principles and their application in an industrial setting. This role requires full-time presence at our facility in Klerksdorp, North West .

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the assembly, fitting, and installation of mechanical components and systems.
• Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and lubrication of machinery.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical equipment as needed.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools to precise specifications.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist in implementing solutions.
• Understand and apply safe working practices and procedures at all times.
• Operate workshop machinery such as lathes, milling machines, and drill presses under supervision.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Participate actively in all aspects of the apprenticeship training program.

Requirements

• A strong interest in mechanical engineering and a desire to become a qualified artisan.
• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent qualification, with a focus on Mathematics and Technical subjects.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work meticulously and accurately.
• Good physical health and the ability to perform manual tasks.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior artisans.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
• A valid driver's license is considered a strong advantage.
• Adaptability to learn new techniques and technologies within the field.
