About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing e-commerce fulfillment company, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Operations Specialist to join their team in Pietermaritzburg. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and accurate execution of daily logistics operations, including order processing, shipping, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a thorough understanding of warehouse and transportation procedures. You will be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders, troubleshooting operational issues, and contributing to process improvements that enhance overall efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position requires a hands-on approach and a commitment to maintaining high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily logistics operations, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment and shipment.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff, transportation carriers, and customer service teams to resolve operational issues.
• Monitor shipping schedules and track shipments, proactively addressing any delays or exceptions.
• Ensure all logistics documentation is accurate and complete, including shipping labels, manifests, and customs forms.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory control activities as needed.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all logistics functions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of logistics processes, focusing on cost reduction and service enhancement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics operations, warehouse management, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in using logistics software, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and MS Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of shipping procedures, transportation modes, and inventory control principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
