About the Role

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company renowned for its high-quality products and commitment to innovation, is seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Operations to lead its operations based in Mossel Bay, Western Cape . This senior leadership position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, supply chain management, quality control, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all daily operations, including production, warehousing, logistics, and quality assurance.
• Develop and implement strategic operational plans to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
• Manage the entire supply chain, from raw material procurement to finished product delivery.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Lead and mentor the operations team, fostering a high-performance culture and driving employee development.
• Monitor key operational metrics and KPIs, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Manage operational budgets and capital expenditure plans.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
• Oversee inventory management and optimize stock levels.
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g., sales, R&D, finance) to align operations with business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A Master's degree or MBA is advantageous.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
• Proven experience in managing large teams and complex operational environments.
• Strong understanding of supply chain management, production planning, and quality control systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and operational reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems and operational software.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of workplace safety.
• This role requires a hybrid work arrangement, necessitating regular on-site presence in Mossel Bay, Western Cape.
