About the Role

Our client, a leading construction firm, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Site Engineer to join their dynamic team on a critical infrastructure project located in Tembisa, Gauteng. This is a pivotal role where you will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that all construction activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and timelines.


• Coordinate and liaise with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.


• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.


• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site.


• Manage and motivate the site engineering team, providing technical guidance and support.


• Oversee the quality control process, ensuring all work meets required standards and specifications.


• Prepare and submit regular progress reports, including site diaries, completion reports, and material reconciliations.


• Manage site logistics, including the efficient use of resources, equipment, and personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.


• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in site engineering and construction management, with a significant portion focused on large-scale infrastructure projects.


• Proven experience in managing teams and subcontractors on-site.


• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.


• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in construction.


• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.


• Proficiency in project management software and relevant engineering tools.


• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.


• Experience working in Tembisa, Gauteng or similar demanding environments is advantageous.
