About the Role

Our client, a leading global logistics provider, is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Remote Supply Chain Optimization Specialist to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of supply chain principles and a proven ability to identify and implement efficiencies. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current supply chain operations to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction.
• Develop and implement data-driven strategies to optimize inventory levels, forecasting accuracy, and warehouse management.
• Evaluate and improve transportation routes, carrier performance, and freight costs.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure optimal sourcing and supplier performance.
• Design and implement performance metrics (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.
• Utilize advanced analytics and modeling tools to forecast demand and plan resource allocation.
• Create detailed reports and presentations on supply chain performance and improvement recommendations for senior management.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in supply chain management and logistics technology.
• Facilitate virtual workshops and training sessions to communicate new strategies and processes.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain analysis, optimization, or a similar role.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing successful supply chain strategies.
• Proficiency in supply chain software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA).
• Advanced skills in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
• Excellent understanding of inventory management, warehousing, and transportation principles.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
• Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Experience with lean Six Sigma methodologies is highly desirable.
