Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to modernise our data environment, strengthen platform capabilities and enable data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

The reference number for this position is NG61549 which is a p ermanent, Hybrid role in Johannesburg offering a salary of up to R1mil per annum salary negotiable based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the enterprise data platform roadmap.
• Lead cloud data architecture, platform engineering and data integration initiatives.
• Modernise legacy systems and establish scalable, API-driven data environments.
• Implement data governance, quality, security, monitoring and data reliability practices.
• Enable trusted enterprise data, AI, advanced analytics and self-service reporting.
• Collaborate with executive and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver business value.
• Lead high-performing technical teams, delivery partners and vendors.
• Manage delivery governance, resources and budget inputs.

Minimum requirements

• NQF level 7 qualification in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5-7 years' experience in data engineering, data platforms or enterprise architecture.
• Proven experience in enterprise data platform modernisation and cloud technologies.
• Experience leading technical delivery teams.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Advantageous: NQF level 8 qualification, cloud or architecture certifications, and experience in AI, advanced analytics, mobility or asset-intensive industries.
