Warehouse Process Improvement Analyst

About the Role

Our client, a major retail logistics operator, is seeking a data-driven and innovative Warehouse Process Improvement Analyst to join their team in Polokwane, Limpopo . This critical role focuses on analyzing existing warehouse operations, identifying inefficiencies, and developing and implementing strategies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall service quality. The analyst will work closely with warehouse management and operational teams to map processes, collect data, identify root causes of issues, and propose data-backed solutions. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical capabilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies within a warehouse environment. This is a key position for driving operational excellence and shaping the future of our client's logistics infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current warehouse processes, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
• Develop and implement lean methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify trends and bottlenecks.
• Design and document new or improved operational procedures and workflows.
• Collaborate with warehouse management and staff to implement process changes and ensure adoption.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process efficiency and effectiveness.
• Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and other methodologies to assess operational performance.
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and project progress to stakeholders.
• Facilitate training sessions on new processes and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process improvement, operations analysis, or logistics within a warehouse environment.
• Proven experience applying lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab) and process mapping software.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence change.
• Understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain principles.
• Project management skills are a plus.
