About the Role

This role is crucial for building and strengthening relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and potential beneficiaries. You will be responsible for planning and executing outreach initiatives, raising awareness about the organization's services, and identifying individuals and groups who can benefit from support. The position involves a hybrid work model, requiring regular engagement within the Durban community alongside remote administrative and planning duties. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive community outreach strategies and action plans.
• Organize and facilitate community events, workshops, and information sessions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local organizations, and government agencies.
• Identify and engage with target populations to promote services and programs.
• Represent the organization at community gatherings, forums, and public events.
• Gather feedback from the community to inform program development and service delivery.
• Prepare regular reports on outreach activities, engagement metrics, and outcomes.
• Manage outreach materials and resources, ensuring effective communication of the organization's mission.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between outreach efforts and organizational goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Community Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in community outreach, program coordination, or a similar role.
• Proven ability to engage effectively with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
• Excellent public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of community dynamics and social issues relevant to Durban.
• Experience in event planning and management.
• Proficiency in standard office software and social media platforms for communication.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a hybrid work setting.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Durban metropolitan area.
