Senior Frontend Developer - JavaScript Expert

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Frontend Developer with deep expertise in JavaScript to join their technology division. This position is located in our Midrand, Gauteng office, offering a hybrid work arrangement that combines in-office collaboration with remote flexibility. You will be responsible for building and maintaining user-facing features for our cutting-edge web applications, ensuring they are performant, scalable, and user-friendly. This role requires a strong understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, a keen eye for design, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences. You will work closely with backend developers, designers, and product managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement high-quality, responsive, and performant user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Translate UI/UX design wireframes and mockups into functional, dynamic web pages.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability across various devices and browsers.
• Collaborate effectively with backend developers to integrate frontend components with server-side logic.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, identifying and implementing effective solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging frontend technologies and industry trends.
• Mentor junior frontend developers and contribute to best practices within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development.
• Expertise in JavaScript (ES6+) and a strong command of at least one modern JavaScript framework (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
• Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and preprocessors like Sass or Less.
• Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand, Vuex).
• Familiarity with build tools like Webpack, Vite, or Parcel.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
