Lead Power Systems Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct comprehensive power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit analysis, transient stability, and voltage stability.
• Develop, maintain, and validate power system models using industry-standard software.
• Analyze the impact of renewable energy integration, distributed generation, and grid modernization initiatives on system performance.
• Provide expert technical recommendations for grid expansion, upgrades, and operational improvements.
• Mentor and guide junior power system analysts, fostering their technical growth.
• Collaborate with grid operations, planning departments, and external stakeholders on technical matters.
• Develop and refine methodologies for power system analysis and reporting.
• Prepare clear and concise technical reports, presentations, and documentation for various audiences.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes impacting power systems.
• Participate in incident investigations and contribute to post-event analysis to improve system resilience.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• A Master's degree is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in power system analysis, grid planning, or a related field within the energy industry.
• Extensive experience with power system simulation software such as PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, or similar.
• Strong understanding of power system fundamentals, including generators, transmission lines, transformers, and protection schemes.
• Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing complex analytical projects.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with grid codes and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites or for industry meetings.
