About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for recruiting volunteers from diverse backgrounds across South Africa.
• Conduct thorough screening and onboarding processes for all new volunteers.
• Design and deliver engaging virtual training sessions for volunteers covering organizational mission, procedures, and specific roles.
• Manage volunteer schedules, assignments, and communication using online platforms and tools.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing ongoing support.
• Foster a positive and motivating volunteer experience, recognizing volunteer contributions.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and databases, including hours logged and impact achieved.
• Collaborate with program staff to identify volunteer needs and match volunteers to appropriate opportunities.
• Assist in the development of volunteer recognition programs and events.
• Monitor volunteer engagement and implement strategies to enhance retention.
• Contribute to the development of marketing materials to attract new volunteers.

Requirements

• Proven experience in volunteer management, recruitment, or coordination, preferably in a remote setting.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with people from various backgrounds.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using virtual communication and collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack, Google Workspace).
• Experience in database management (e.g., CRM systems) is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively in a remote environment.
• A passion for environmental conservation or the mission of Our client.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
