About the Role

Our client, a key supplier to the automotive manufacturing industry, is looking for a diligent Purchasing Officer to join their operations in Mahikeng, North West . This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day purchasing activities, ensuring the timely acquisition of raw materials, components, and operational supplies. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to foster positive relationships with suppliers. Key Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Source and identify reliable suppliers for various materials and components.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost efficiencies.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand material requirements and inventory levels.
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to orders, deliveries, or invoices.
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of purchasing reports and market analysis.
• Support the purchasing manager with various operational tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
• Familiarity with sourcing processes and supplier management.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks.
• Proactive problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing supply chains is advantageous.
