Senior Real Estate Valuer

About the Role

Our client, a highly respected real estate valuation and advisory firm, is seeking an experienced and accredited Senior Real Estate Valuer to join their team in Upington, Northern Cape . This role is critical for providing accurate and insightful property valuations for a wide range of purposes, including mortgage lending, investment analysis, portfolio management, and litigation support. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of valuation methodologies, extensive knowledge of the Northern Cape property market, and exceptional analytical skills. You will be responsible for conducting thorough property inspections, researching market data, applying appropriate valuation techniques, and preparing comprehensive valuation reports. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct physical inspections of various property types, including residential, commercial, and industrial.
• Research and analyze market data, including comparable sales, rental rates, and economic trends.
• Apply a range of valuation methodologies, such as the sales comparison, cost, and income approaches.
• Prepare detailed and accurate property valuation reports for diverse client needs.
• Consult with clients to understand their specific valuation requirements and provide expert advice.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of property markets, valuation standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with professional appraisal standards (e.g., RICS, SAIV).
• Review and critically assess valuations prepared by other team members.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, lenders, and other stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements in valuation.

Requirements

• A professional qualification in Property Valuation or a related field (e.g., B.Sc. Property Studies, NQF Level 5/4 certification from SACAP/SACP).
• Professional registration with a recognized body such as the South African Institute of Valuers (SAIV) or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a qualified Property Valuer.
• Extensive knowledge of the Northern Cape property market, with specific expertise in the Upington area.
• Proven ability to conduct accurate and comprehensive property valuations for various purposes.
• Strong understanding of valuation principles, methodologies, and relevant legislation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
• Proficiency in valuation software and MS Office Suite.
• High degree of accuracy, integrity, and professional ethics.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the province.
