About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough inspections of aircraft, airframes, engines, and related components during various stages of maintenance and repair.
• Verify compliance with all applicable aviation regulations (e.g., South African Civil Aviation Authority - SACAA requirements), manufacturer specifications, and company policies.
• Review maintenance records, work orders, and technical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct audits of workshops, hangars, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Identify non-conformities, deviations, and potential safety hazards, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Track and ensure the timely closure of corrective action plans related to quality issues.
• Participate in internal and external audits conducted by regulatory bodies or third parties.
• Assist in the development and improvement of quality management system procedures and processes.
• Maintain accurate and organized inspection records and reports.
• Provide training and guidance to maintenance personnel on quality standards and best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with evolving aviation regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) as an Aviation Quality Assurance Inspector or in a similar quality control role within the aviation industry.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation maintenance procedures, aircraft systems, and components.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as SACAA, EASA, or FAA.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and auditing principles.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
• Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Relevant aviation certifications or licenses are highly desirable.
