About the Role

Our client, a luxurious spa and wellness retreat, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Spa Therapist & Wellness Coordinator for their flagship location in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal . This role combines exceptional therapeutic skills with the coordination of wellness programs and client care. You will be responsible for delivering a range of high-quality spa treatments, managing bookings, coordinating wellness activities, and ensuring an unparalleled guest experience. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of various holistic therapies, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for promoting well-being. You will also assist in coordinating guest wellness journeys, providing personalized recommendations, and ensuring seamless service delivery. This hybrid role offers flexibility, allowing you to blend hands-on therapy with administrative and coordination duties, making it a rewarding position in beautiful Durban .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of advanced spa treatments, including massages, facials, body treatments, and other therapies.
• Provide expert consultations to clients, assessing their needs and recommending appropriate treatments and products.
• Coordinate and manage guest bookings, ensuring efficient scheduling and resource allocation.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new spa and wellness programs and packages.
• Ensure the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and presentation within the spa environment.
• Maintain client records and ensure confidentiality of personal information.
• Promote spa services and retail products to clients, driving revenue growth.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior therapists, sharing expertise and best practices.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure a cohesive guest experience.
• Manage spa inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
• Contribute to creating a tranquil and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

Requirements

• Professional qualification in Somatology, Beauty Therapy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Spa Therapist, with proven expertise in multiple treatment modalities.
• Experience in a supervisory or coordination role within a spa or wellness setting is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of skincare, massage techniques, and holistic wellness practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-centric approach.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in spa management software and booking systems.
• A passion for wellness and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Experience in the KwaZulu-Natal region is a plus.
• First Aid certification is an advantage.
