About the Role

Our client, a prominent provider of essential support services to the mining industry, is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Operations Manager for their facility in Upington, Northern Cape . This critical role involves overseeing all operational aspects of service delivery, ensuring efficiency, safety, and client satisfaction in a demanding sector. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all day-to-day operations related to mining support services.
• Ensure the efficient and safe delivery of services to mining clients in the Northern Cape region.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operational staff, fostering a culture of safety, performance, and accountability.
• Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures in compliance with mining industry standards.
• Manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial performance.
• Oversee the maintenance and deployment of equipment and resources necessary for service delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key mining clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
• Monitor operational performance through KPIs and implement corrective actions to address any deviations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and the adoption of new technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in operations management, with significant experience in the mining or heavy industry sector.
• Proven experience managing complex operational environments and diverse teams.
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices within the mining industry.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control operational costs effectively.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with project management and resource allocation in challenging environments.
• Proficiency in relevant operational software and systems.
• Ability to reside in or commute regularly to the Upington, Northern Cape area.
• Must be adaptable to the demanding conditions of the mining sector.
