About the Role

Our client, a globally recognized agricultural research and development firm, is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Remote Agronomist specializing in Crop Science and Research. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to groundbreaking research and development projects. You will be instrumental in designing and executing field trials, analyzing crop performance data, and developing new agricultural methodologies to enhance crop yields, quality, and resilience. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of crop physiology, genetics, and modern agronomic practices, combined with strong analytical and data interpretation skills. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage field research trials for various crops, focusing on new varieties, fertilizers, and crop protection strategies.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret complex agronomic data, including yield, soil, weather, and pest/disease incidence data.
• Develop and refine best practice recommendations for crop cultivation based on research findings.
• Collaborate with internal research teams, external partners, and agricultural stakeholders to advance crop science initiatives.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements, technological innovations, and regulatory changes in crop science and agronomy.
• Prepare detailed research reports, scientific publications, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on crop-related issues to support product development and market initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture and climate change adaptation.
• Manage research budgets and timelines effectively for assigned projects.
• Mentor and guide junior researchers or technical staff as needed.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in agricultural research and development, with a focus on crop science.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and conducting field trials, data collection, and statistical analysis.
• Expert knowledge of crop physiology, genetics, pathology, and soil science.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS) and experimental design principles.
• Strong understanding of agricultural technologies and precision farming techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of scientific publications.
• Ability to work independently, manage projects proactively, and thrive in a fully remote, collaborative environment.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Experience with remote sensing and GIS applications in agriculture is a plus.
