Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily production activities, ensuring targets for output, quality, and safety are met.
• Lead, train, and mentor a team of production operators and line leaders, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Implement and enforce strict quality control measures and standard operating procedures across all production lines.
• Monitor production equipment performance, coordinate maintenance activities, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Analyze production data, generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement corrective actions to address deviations.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the production floor.
• Collaborate with planning, logistics, and engineering departments to ensure seamless workflow and timely delivery of products.
• Manage shift changes effectively, ensuring adequate staffing and resource allocation.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Identify and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001), and lean manufacturing principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to liaise effectively with all levels of staff.
• Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• A relevant qualification in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is highly advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to the vicinity of Pietermaritzburg to facilitate hybrid working arrangements.
