Construction Project Manager - Commercial Buildings

About the Role

Our client, a prominent developer and builder, requires a seasoned Construction Project Manager for their new commercial building projects in the Centurion, Gauteng . This role demands a proactive leader capable of managing all phases of construction projects, from planning and design through to execution and handover. You will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging commercial developments, contributing to the architectural landscape of Centurion . We are looking for an individual with exceptional organizational skills, a strong understanding of construction methodologies, and the ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams. This is a key role within our client's expanding operations in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, resources, and timelines.
• Oversee daily construction activities and ensure project milestones are met.
• Manage contracts, procure materials, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with all building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality assurance checks.
• Manage project finances, including budget tracking and cost control.
• Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, architects, and engineers.
• Prepare and present project status reports.
• Lead and motivate the site team to achieve project objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in construction project management, preferably in commercial building projects.
• Demonstrated experience in managing projects from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, scheduling software, and contract administration.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore).
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations on construction sites.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Experience within the Centurion or broader Gauteng area is highly desirable.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or Pr.CPM are a plus.
