Remote Fleet Dispatcher

About the Role Our client, a leading logistics and transport provider, is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Remote Fleet Dispatcher to join their dynamic operations team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods across various regions. You will be the central point of contact for drivers, coordinating schedules, optimizing routes, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during transit. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for an individual who can seamlessly manage multiple tasks and priorities, contributing to the overall success of our client's logistical network. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dispatch software and a proven track record in managing transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule daily deliveries and pickups for the fleet of vehicles.
• Monitor driver locations and provide real-time updates on progress and potential delays.
• Optimize delivery routes using advanced dispatch software to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, providing clear instructions and support.
• Address and resolve any issues or emergencies that arise during transit, such as breakdowns or traffic disruptions.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including delivery times, mileage, and driver performance.
• Liaise with clients and internal departments to ensure smooth communication regarding shipment status.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
• Manage communication channels to provide timely updates to all stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dispatcher or in a similar logistics coordination role.
• Proficiency in using dispatch and route optimization software.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Must have a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup.
• Ability to work flexible hours if required to cover different shifts.
• Experience in a Driving & Transport environment is highly advantageous.
