Project Manager - Agricultural Technology

This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within South Africa , though proximity to agricultural hubs in the Free State would be an advantage. We are looking for an individual passionate about sustainable agriculture and technological innovation, capable of driving projects from conception through to successful deployment in field environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle for agricultural technology solutions, from ideation to deployment and support.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineers, agronomists, software developers, and field technicians.
• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely financial reporting.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges that may arise.
• Ensure that technological solutions meet the specific needs of the agricultural sector and end-users.
• Facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders, including clients and partners.
• Stay abreast of advancements in agricultural technology and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a proven focus on technology-driven projects.
• Experience within the agricultural sector or AgTech industry is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of precision agriculture, IoT in farming, or data analytics is a significant advantage.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello, MS Project).
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Passion for sustainable agriculture and technological innovation.
