Partnership Development Manager - Social Enterprise

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic social enterprise dedicated to creating sustainable economic opportunities in the East London region, is seeking an experienced Partnership Development Manager. This strategic role is responsible for identifying, building, and nurturing collaborative relationships with businesses, government entities, and other non-profit organizations. The goal is to foster partnerships that align with our mission of community empowerment and economic development. The ideal candidate will have a strong network, exceptional negotiation skills, and a proven ability to forge mutually beneficial alliances. You will be instrumental in expanding our reach and impact, securing resources and support that drive our initiatives forward within the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with corporate, government, and non-profit organizations.
• Develop and negotiate partnership agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs).
• Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, and industry forums.
• Develop and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to potential partners.
• Manage and strengthen existing partner relationships to ensure ongoing collaboration and success.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align partnership activities with organizational goals and program needs.
• Track partnership progress and impact, providing regular reports to senior management.
• Stay informed about industry trends and potential partnership opportunities in the East London area.
• Facilitate cross-sector collaborations that lead to innovative solutions for social and economic challenges.
• Contribute to the overall strategic planning and business development efforts of the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, partnership management, or corporate relations.
• Proven track record of successfully building and managing strategic partnerships.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of the social enterprise or non-profit sector.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and present compelling proposals.
• Proficiency in CRM software and project management tools.
• Experience working within the Eastern Cape region is highly advantageous.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
• A results-driven mindset with a passion for social impact and economic development.
