Regional Logistics Manager

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the FMCG sector, is seeking a seasoned and strategic Regional Logistics Manager to lead their operations in the East London region. This senior role requires extensive experience in managing complex logistics networks, optimizing transportation and warehousing, and leading high-performing teams. You will be responsible for driving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of products across the region, while upholding the highest standards of service and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership qualities, a deep understanding of supply chain best practices, and a proven ability to implement innovative solutions in a demanding environment. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all logistics operations within the assigned region, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize the regional supply chain, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and ensure performance meets contractual obligations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to address any deviations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments, including sales, operations, and procurement, to align logistics strategies with business objectives.
• Drive innovation and the adoption of new technologies to enhance logistics efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Demonstrated experience managing regional or multi-site logistics operations.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation management, warehouse operations, and inventory control.
• Proven track record of cost reduction and process improvement initiatives within logistics.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in relevant logistics software and systems (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP).
