Senior Site Engineer - Civil Construction Projects

About the Role

Our client, a reputable civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join their team on a fully remote basis. This role involves overseeing and managing the civil construction aspects of various projects from a remote perspective, requiring strong technical oversight, coordination, and problem-solving skills. You will ensure that all construction activities adhere to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations, providing crucial support to site teams. Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical guidance and oversight for site-based civil construction activities.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Monitor construction progress and quality, reporting findings and recommendations through digital channels.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations on all project sites.
• Collaborate closely with site managers, foremen, and subcontractors to resolve construction issues.
• Manage the implementation of quality control and assurance procedures.
• Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and site-specific work plans.
• Assist in the preparation of progress reports, site instructions, and variation orders.
• Coordinate with design engineers and consultants to address site queries and design clarifications.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, material delivery notes, and inspection records.
• Support the project management team in achieving project milestones and objectives.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in civil construction site supervision and project execution.
• Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects, with strong knowledge of various construction methodologies.
• Excellent understanding of engineering principles, materials, and construction techniques.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in project management software and digital collaboration tools.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities, capable of effectively managing remote teams and site personnel.
• Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions in a remote capacity.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng. or Techni Eng.) is highly desirable.
