Senior Supply Chain Manager (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly strategic and accomplished Senior Supply Chain Manager to lead their global supply chain operations. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive supply chain strategies, optimizing logistics, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring efficient flow of goods from procurement to delivery. You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across the entire supply chain. This role requires exceptional leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of global supply chain dynamics. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our client's supply chain operations, ensuring resilience and competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term supply chain strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, including planning, procurement, logistics, and distribution.
• Manage and negotiate contracts with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers.
• Implement best practices in inventory management, demand forecasting, and network optimization.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
• Lead and mentor a remote team of supply chain professionals.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain performance.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Collaborate closely with other departments, including sales, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful supply chain strategies.
• Extensive experience in global logistics, procurement, and inventory management.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with experience leading remote teams.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in supply chain planning software and ERP systems.
• Ability to manage complex, multi-faceted projects.
• Must be eligible to work remotely from within South Africa.
