Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, ensuring legal and commercial objectives are met.
• Provide strategic legal advice to clients on corporate structuring, governance, and compliance matters.
• Conduct due diligence investigations for transactional work.
• Advise on regulatory compliance, including company law, competition law, and industry-specific regulations.
• Manage client relationships and develop new business opportunities.
• Mentor and supervise junior legal staff.
• Represent clients in corporate litigation and dispute resolution matters when necessary.

Requirements

• Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• A minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience in corporate law, with a strong emphasis on M&A and corporate finance.
• Demonstrated expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts and transaction documents.
• In-depth understanding of South African company law, securities law, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects independently and lead deal teams effectively.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong business acumen and a client-centric approach.
• A track record of business development is advantageous.
