About the Role

Our client, a design-led architectural studio known for its innovative interiors, is seeking a Lead Interior Architect to join their dynamic team in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. You will lead interior design projects from concept development through to execution, collaborating closely with clients, architects, and contractors to deliver exceptional results. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the interior design process for a variety of projects, including commercial, hospitality, and high-end residential spaces.
• Develop conceptual designs, mood boards, space plans, and detailed interior specifications.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, requirements, and brand identity.
• Select interior finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) to achieve design objectives.
• Prepare detailed drawings, renderings, and presentations to communicate design proposals effectively.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of interior designs.
• Manage interior design project timelines and budgets.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design intent during construction.
• Stay updated on the latest interior design trends, materials, and technologies.
• Mentor junior interior designers and contribute to the overall creative direction of the studio.

Requirements

• Professional degree or diploma in Interior Architecture or Interior Design.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in interior architecture and design.
• Demonstrated experience leading interior design projects from concept to completion.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3ds Max, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of space planning, ergonomics, material properties, and lighting design.
• Excellent visual communication, presentation, and client management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Experience with FF&E procurement and vendor management is a plus.
• Knowledge of South African building codes and accessibility standards relevant to interiors.
• A strong portfolio showcasing a range of high-quality interior design projects.
