Senior C# and Mobile Developer

Build and improve specialist engineering software used in mining operations around the world, combining advanced C# development with real-world technical challenges.

(This is a hybrid position with 3 days (Bryanston) in office and 2 days remote)

Our client is a specialist engineering consultancy with over 30 years' experience in mine ventilation, cooling and refrigeration. Its software supports the planning, optimisation and real-time monitoring of mining operations worldwide.
This opportunity combines maintaining established C# applications with developing modern desktop, web and mobile solutions.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and maintain applications using C#, .NET, Blazor and .NET MAUI.
• Enhance existing Windows Forms software while contributing to modern applications.
• Design and maintain SQL Server and SQLite databases, data-access services and RESTful integrations.
• Build reliable offline functionality, including local storage, synchronisation and error recovery.
• Improve performance, troubleshoot defects and test applications thoroughly.
• Contribute to solution design, technical documentation and end-user support.

What you'll need

• A relevant degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science or a related technical discipline.
• At least 10 years' professional C# development experience, including Windows Forms and modern .NET.
• Strong experience with .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, Blazor, .NET MAUI and Blazor Hybrid.
• Solid skills in Entity Framework Core, LINQ, SQL Server, T-SQL, SQLite and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with offline-capable applications, asynchronous programming and data synchronisation.
• Sound understanding of software engineering principles, Git, testing and the development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work across multiple projects.
• Good communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and colleagues.

Nice to have

• Experience developing engineering or data-intensive technical software.
• Android debugging, packaging and deployment.
• CI/CD and automated release pipelines.

Compensation

The offer will be market related in line with your qualifications, skills, and experience. The role can offer between R800k - R1.1m (Neg) per annum for candidates who require minimal additional training or oversight.
