About the Role

Our client, a prominent industrial and manufacturing firm based in Sandton , Gauteng, is seeking to recruit motivated individuals for its highly regarded Trainee Millwright Apprenticeship program. Millwrights are crucial to the smooth operation of factories and industrial plants, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing complex machinery. You will receive comprehensive theoretical and practical training, learning to work with a wide range of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist experienced millwrights in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery.
• Learn to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and blueprints.
• Operate various hand and power tools, including welding and cutting equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks on plant equipment.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex machinery components.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and system failures.
• Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies within the Sandton facility.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Participate actively in technical training sessions and coursework.

Requirements

• A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate with passes in Mathematics and Physical Science is essential.
• A strong mechanical aptitude and interest in industrial machinery.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work systematically.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor in an industrial setting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be a South African citizen.
• Willingness to commit to the full apprenticeship duration and training requirements in Sandton .
• A proactive attitude towards learning and skill development.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles is advantageous.
