Community Engagement Coordinator

About the Role Our client, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering sustainable development and community well-being in the Northern Cape, is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Community Engagement Coordinator. This role is fully remote, allowing you to connect with and support communities across the region from your home office. You will be instrumental in building strong relationships with community members, local leaders, and stakeholders, identifying needs, and facilitating the implementation of impactful programs. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication and networking skills, a deep understanding of community dynamics, and a passion for driving positive social change. You will be responsible for designing and executing engagement strategies that foster participation, build trust, and ensure our client's initiatives are responsive to local priorities. This is a key role in amplifying our client's reach and impact through collaborative community partnerships. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies to enhance community engagement and participation in organizational programs. Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with community members, leaders, and local organizations. Identify community needs, challenges, and opportunities through active listening and dialogue. Facilitate community meetings, workshops, and information sessions (virtual and in-person where applicable). Mobilize community support and participation in projects and initiatives. Serve as a liaison between the organization and the communities it serves. Gather feedback from the community to inform program development and adaptation. Support the planning and execution of community outreach activities. Document engagement activities, outcomes, and lessons learned. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure community perspectives are integrated into organizational strategies. Requirements Proven experience in community development, outreach, engagement, or a related field. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills. Strong understanding of community dynamics and participatory approaches. Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse groups of people. Proficiency in virtual communication and collaboration tools. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting. A passion for social impact and community empowerment. Experience working in the Northern Cape region is an advantage.
