Role Overview
This role requires a dynamic and well-balanced couple who thrive in a hands-on management environment. The Lodge Manager will oversee the daily operations, ensuring impeccable guest service and smooth coordination across departments, while the Head Guide will lead all guiding activities, delivering outstanding safari experiences with a strong focus on guest safety and education.
Key Responsibilities
Lodge Manager
Oversee the daily lodge operations, ensuring a seamless and high-quality guest experience.
Manage and motivate staff, promoting teamwork and a positive working environment.
Maintain exceptional attention to detail across all lodge areas.
Oversee housekeeping, maintenance, and front-of-house functions.
Manage budgets, stock controls, and administrative duties.
Ensure operational excellence while upholding the lodge’s service standards.
Head Guide
Lead and conduct both game drives and walking safaris in a professional and informative manner.
Manage and mentor the guiding team, maintaining high safety and service standards.
Monitor vehicle maintenance and equipment care.
Share in-depth knowledge of local flora, fauna, and conservation practices.
Engage guests with enthusiasm and passion, creating memorable safari experiences.
Candidate Requirements
Candidates must be able to speak and understand Afrikaans fluently.
Both individuals must have experience in a 5-star service environment , ideally within a luxury lodge.
Lodge Manager : Excellent organisational and leadership skills, strong financial acumen, and exceptional attention to detail.
Head Guide : FGASA Level 2 or higher, valid PDP and First Aid Certificate, with full trails qualification (able to conduct walking safaris).
A genuine passion for hospitality, wildlife, and guest interaction.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Hands-on, adaptable, and committed to maintaining the lodge’s high standards.
